At the time of account opening, Centris employees explain to our members how their membership is established by saying: “Congratulations! As our newest member, Centris will contribute one penny on your behalf to establish your ownership in the credit union.”
Our core system, Keystone, identifies whether a deposit or loan relationship has been established. Overnight, the system automatically creates the membership share for each new member and funds it with one penny, which symbolizes the member’s ownership in Centris.
Please note that the Membership Share is not a transaction account and does not appear on member statements or online banking. It is only visible to employees through Keystone core system and represents their membership at Centris.
